Gary Harris' NBA Draft Decision Advice For Miles Bridges

Here's what the former Michigan State star would say to the Spartans' current star.

Miles Bridges has a decision to make.

Michigan State's star freshman is expected to declare for the NBA Draft. He's projected to be a top-15 pick in many mock drafts. Top-15 picks pretty much always declare.

Bridges might return to school, though. This year's draft class is loaded and Bridges could show enough improvement under Tom Izzo in Year 2 that he could vault into the top 10 or even top five.

Former Michigan State star Gary Harris was in a similar situation to Bridges. The Denver Nuggets guard could have left after his freshman season, but opted to return to school for his sophomore year. Harris improved his stock enough to become a mid-first round pick.

Harris has some advice for Bridges.

From the Lansing State Journal:

“You just can’t have any regrets,” Harris said. “If he decides to stay, he can’t be going throughout the whole season like, ‘Ah, man, I should have left. Why am I still here?’ If he leaves, he can’t be like, ‘Why didn’t I just stay in school?’ Whatever you do, just be all in.”

Harris was “all in” with both of his decisions, including to leave MSU.

“That’s when I knew I was ready because I didn’t question whether I should stay or I should go,” he said.

A decision from Bridges is likely coming soon. He averaged 16.9 points and 8.3 rebounds a game for the Spartans this past season.
