A perennial NCAA Tournament contender, Wichita State once again made the tournament, but got bounced in the first round. The Shockers were upset by No. 13 Marshall by a final score of 81-75.

For the first time since 1949, Wichita State competed in a new conference. The Shockers made the move from the Missouri Valley Conference to the American Athletic Conference for the 2017-18 season.

Current Illinois State, a member of the MVC, head coach Dan Muller thinks the move to the MVC might have had something to do with Wichita State's loss. He sent out this parting shot to the Shockers.

The tweet got plenty of play on Twitter, where it quickly went viral. The Missouri Valley Conference quickly filled the hole left by Wichita State with Valparaiso, but clearly there are still some hard feelings left behind by the Shockers' exit.

In Wichita State's defense, Illinois State has still yet to make the tournament under Dan Muller.
