Iowa basketball is off to an incredibly hot start. The Hawkeyes are 5-0 and in the Top 15 in the polls, after winning the 2K Classic at Madison Square Garden ahead of Thanksgiving, beating a highly-ranked Oregon team, as well as UConn.

Pitt is also undefeated to start the year at 6-0, under new head coach Jeff Capel. The Panthers are looking to rebound from the bottom of the ACC.

The two teams face off in Iowa City tonight in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge.

Here's what you need to know about Pitt at Iowa basketball.

The television information for the contest is as follows:

  • Tip-off time: 9:05 p.m. ET
  • Channel: ESPNU
  • Announcers: Jay Alter, Brooke Weisbrod

These two teams don't see each other too often. The Hawkeyes and Panthers last met in the 1976 Lobo Classic in New Mexico.

Iowa won that one 103-80, its second straight victory in this rarely-played series, but the Panthers won the first five match-ups, with the most recent coming in 1935.
