Former Howard guard James Daniel released his short list of potential transfer destinations to finish out his college career.
James Daniel announced his intent to transfer back in March, and today, he announced his short list of schools, per Jon Rothstein. The list includes Michigan, Ohio Sate, Tennessee and DePaul.
As a graduate transfer, Daniel will be immediately eligible to play this upcoming season for whichever school he chooses.
As a junior, Daniel was the nation's leading scorer in points per game (27.4) and he also set a conference record in points scored (812).
He sat out most of his senior year with what he thought was a high ankle sprain, but an MRI revealed he had chipped a bone in his ankle and would need surgery. He had surgery in February and currently remains in walking boot, but he should be able to start physical therapy in a few weeks according to the Daily Press.
“Within the next month or so, he should be ready,” Daniel Jr. told the Daily Press. “It takes about six weeks to finish physical therapy to where he’ll be 100 percent on it.”
There is no timetable for Daniel's decision.
