Jay Williams' National Title Pick Lost On Day One

Tip between Oklahoma and Rhode Island.

The 2018 NCAA Tournament tipped off today. After a full slate of games, only a handful ended in an upset.

However, millions across the country had their brackets busted when one of the tournament favorites lost its first game. No. 4 Arizona entered Thursday night with hopes of making a deep run in the NCAA tournament, but fell at the hands of Buffalo.

Many had Arizona advancing at least past tonight. Nearly 20-percent of all brackets on ESPN had Arizona advancing to the Elite Eight and the Wildcats were the sixth most-popular national title pick.

Count ESPN analyst Jay Williams among those who thought Arizona would go the distance.

Williams picked Arizona knocking off Michigan State. It was not to be, however, as the Bulls shot over 55-percent from the field and nearly 50-percent from the three-point line.

Buffalo walked out with an 89-68 victory.
