With the NCAA Tournament approaching fairly soon, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi is working around the clock to figure out which teams have the best resumes heading into March. During his research, the creator of Bracketology has found nine troublesome resumes.
According to Lunardi, there are a total of nine teams with worrisome resumes against team’s in the field. Those teams are Florida, Oklahoma, Stanford, Texas Tech, UCLA, USC, Utah State, Wichita State and Xavier.
Lunardi’s reasoning for why these teams have worrisome resumes is because they have subpar records against opponents in the field. For example, the Sooners are 1-8 against teams that will likely be competing in the NCAA Tournament.
To be fair though, Oklahoma has played two of the top teams in the country twice in Baylor and Kansas. As for the other programs with worrisome resumes, there are three Pac-12 teams that are on notice – Stanford, UCLA and USC.
Never a bad idea to check a team's record against the field. WORTHY: St Mary (4-3), Cincy (4-4), NC St (3-3), Richmond (3-3), ASU (5-6). WORRISOME: Oklahoma (1-8), USC (1-6), Wichita St (1-5), UCLA (2-7), Florida (2-6), Stanford (2-6), Utah St (2-4), Xavier (3-9), TTech (3-6).

Florida remains on Lunardi’s list of worrisome contenders, but it should be noted that the Gators are fourth in the standings in the SEC. That alone might be enough to catapult them from the swamp to the field.
Moving over to the positive side of the spectrum, Lunardi believes Cincinnati, NC State, Richmond and St. Mary’s are worthy contenders this season.
It’s shaping up to be another fun year of March Madness.
