Joe Lunardi Predicts The Four No. 1 Seeds For 2020 NCAA Tournament

Joe Lunardi speaking on ESPN.

Virginia and Texas Tech are locked in a tight battle for the national title. The Cavaliers lead the Red Raiders 50-43 with just over 10 minutes left in the first half.

The 2019 NCAA Tournament isn't over just yet, but that didn't stop ESPN's college basketball analyst Joe Lunardi from looking ahead to the 2020 season.

Lunardi is the preeminent "Bracketology" expert in college basketball and he took a shot at predicting the 2020 field.

Here are the No. 1 seeds in the 2020 NCAA Tournament, according to Lunardi:

  • Midwest: Michigan State
  • East: Virginia
  • West: Duke
  • South: Michigan

Virginia would secure its third-straight No. 1 seed if the Cavaliers earn a No. 1 seed in 2020. Meanwhile, Zion Williamson and the trio of fantastic freshmen will be gone of the Blue Devils, but Lunardi still sees Coach K's program performing well next season.

Led by Tom Izzo and John Beilein, Michigan State and Michigan are two of the most-consistent programs in college basketball. The Spartans earned a berth to the Final Four in 2019 and have aspirations of a title.

The Wolverines were bounced in the Sweet 16 by Texas Tech and could get a shot at revenge in the Elite Eight of the 2020 Tournament - if Lunardi's bracket predictions hold true.

It's never too early to look ahead.
