Jontay Porter Expects To Reclassify, Play For Missouri In 2017-18

The five-star recruit expects to reclassify and play in 2017-18.

It looks like Missouri is going to have two five-star Porters playing for its men's basketball team next season.

Michael Porter Jr., the projected No. 1 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, has a younger brother, Jontay, who's a five-star recruit in the 2018 class.

Jontay is expecting to reclassify, though, he told CBS Sports.

From CBS Sports:

The assumption for a while has been that Class of 2018 star Jontay Porterwill reclassify and enroll at Mizzou soon so that he can play alongside his brother, Michael Porter Jr., this season.

So I asked Jontay if that's a safe assumption.

"Yeah, for sure," he answered with a smile at the Nike Peach Jam event here on the Georgia-South Carolina border. "That's a safe assumption."

Missouri could be one of the best teams in the SEC in 2017-18. The Tigers will have multiple first-round picks on their roster and maybe the best player in the conference in the elder Porter.
