Keldon Johnson, a five-star shooting guard from Oak Hill Academy, is down to five schools in his recruitment.
247Sports ranks Johnson as the No. 14 overall player in the class of 2018.
The site also has him ranked No. 2 among shooting guards and No. 1 in the state of Virginia.
As he nears a commitment, he is down to five final programs in his recruitment. From Rivals:
“I narrowed it down to five schools so I am coming down the home stretch,” he said. “Maryland, Texas, Kentucky, NC State and Florida State are all involved.”
It sounds like Johnson’s decision may be imminent, even though he has not yet taken official visits to all five of his finalists.
Johnson is set firmly on his final five and while he could potentially take his final official visit to Florida State, the end may be near.
“It is just coming down the home stretch with my recruitment. I would say I do want to sign early as of now,” he said. “After me and my father talk in the next few days, hopefully we can get something done.”
50-percent of voters at 247’s crystal ball believe he will be a Kentucky Wildcat, with Texas and Maryland picking up the remaining predictions.
Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Penn State, UCLA, and Virginia Tech are among his other offers.
