Kerem Kanter, Brother Of Thunder Forward Enes, Hearing From Power Programs As Grad Transfer

Kerem Kanter, brother of Oklahoma City Thunder forward Enes Kanter, is transferring after a breakout season at Wisconsin-Green Bay, and some big-time programs are interested.

Kanter averaged 19.1 minutes per game as a junior, scoring 11.3 points and grabbing 6.3 rebounds per game. He shot over 50-percent from the field and 35-percent from three point range this season. On March 24, Kanter announced his departure from Green Bay, and decision to enter the NBA Draft without hiring an agent.

If he doesn't take the NBA route, Kanter may also spend his final season as a graduate transfer. Now, some of college basketball's top programs are interested in the 6-foot-10 big man. According to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, Baylor, Boston College, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, NC State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rhode Island, Seton Hall, and UConn are all among the schools involved.

At this time, it seems unlikely that Kanter would be a draft pick, though he does have a solid NBA pedigree. A big senior year at a high-profile program could get him on some draft boards.

Kanter's brother Enes spent his sole college season at Kentucky, but he was not permitted to play for the Wildcats after receiving money from European club Fenerbahçe. John Calipari's team is not included in Goodman's list.
