LaMelo Ball reportedly has a legitimate chance to become the highest-drafted player in his family.

According to a new report from ESPN, NBA teams are considering LaMelo for the No. 1 overall pick. NBA analyst Jonathan Givony said Ball's recent play made an impact on executives around the league.

The result could be Ball hearing his name called with the No. 1 pick.

"NBA teams have done a 180 on LaMelo Ball after seeing him dominate the Australian NBL Blitz this week. It's time to start talking about him as a real candidate for the #1 overall pick," Givony said.

LaMelo's older brother, Lonzo Ball, was the No. 2 overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017.

His struggles in Los Angeles could impact LaMelo's draft status - whether or not that is fair to the youngest Ball brother. The Lakers shipped Lonzo to the New Orleans Pelicans to acquire star big man Anthony Davis.

However, LaMelo's recent play suggests he has a chance to become the top pick in the draft.

Can he keep that momentum going? We'll find out.
