The top recruit in the 2018 class could skip his senior year to play for Duke or USC.
Marvin Bagley is the No. 1 recruit in the 2018 class.
The five-star forward might end up being part of the 2017 class, though.
247Sports' Jerry Meyer reported that the star recruit is considering skipping his senior year and enrolling at a college for the 2017-18 season.
Bagley's recruitment appears to be down to two schools: Duke and USC.
An interesting note in Bagley's recruitment is some intel that has come to 247Sports of the possibility of him reclassifying up to the 2017 class. Bagley is scheduled to visit Duke and Coach K and staff have been doggedly tracking him. But the buzz is that hometown USC could be his desired destination as a potential 2017 recruit. Andy Enfield has been a familiar face at his games, but so have John Calipari and Sean Miller. In the end, though, Bagley's recruitment has the feel of a Duke and USC showdown.
Reclassifying is fairly common on the recruiting circuit these days. Andrew Wiggins and Andre Drummond both did it and both ended up starring for their respective schools before being top NBA Draft picks. Bagley would be expected to do the same.
The addition of Bagley could vault Duke into a preseason No. 1 ranking, while USC could become a potential Final Four candidate with him in stow.
