One of only a few remaining undeclared five-star prospects in the Class of 2019, Matthew Hurt has finally come to a decision on where he’ll take his talents next season. On Thursday he announced where and when he’ll make the announcement.
On Thursday, Hurt told Tipton Edits that he will be making the announcement on Friday, April 19 at 4:15 p.m. ET (3:15 CT). He is currently picking between four college basketball blue bloods: Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, and North Carolina.
Per 247Sports, Hurt is the No. 8 overall prospect in the country. He is the No. 2 power forward in the country, and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Minnesota.
247Sports’ Crystal Ball Predictions are giving the edge to Duke, with 75-percent of experts picking the Blue Devils and 25-percent picking Kansas.

Based on the comments on the Twitter post though, it would seem that fans already suspect that he will be joining Coach K’s side.
Hurt’s breakout year came in the 2017-18 season. That year he averaged 33.8 points per game, 15.0 rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game, and 3.9 steals per game.
The five-star forward is sure to be a difference maker for any team that gets him, and with all four of the teams on his list famous for their recruiting chops, he might even be the X-factor in an NCAA title run.
