Watch: Mike Wilbon Ripped Skip Bayless At Northwestern Rally Ahead Of Game vs. Vanderbilt

Mike Wilbon is one of the many famous Northwestern alumni in sports media. Today, ahead of the Wildcats' NCAA Tournament game, he took a huge shot at Vanderbilt alumnus Skip Bayless.

Wilbon took the stage at a Northwestern pep rally before the school's long-awaited first NCAA Tournament game, and did not hold back about Bayless, who left ESPN for rival FOX Sports 1 earlier this year, detailing a controversial article that Bayless penned when he arrived at the Chicago Tribune back in 1998.

It does sound particularly Baylessian.

Via Awful Announcing:

“Skip Bayless, I’ll tell you this, one of his first columns when he got to the Chicago Tribune... When he took the column after I turned it down, he wrote about how overrated Michael Jordan is. That was his first column in Chicago. So we know about Skip’s lack of perspective. Skip being a Vanderbilt alum. So we need to take care of Vanderbilt if for no other reason that to shut Skip up.”

To think, this was probably four years before Bayless first heard the name "LeBron James." That take certainly didn't age well, though his rarely do. Wilbon's comments come after Bayless tweeted support for his Commodores on Sunday after the brackets were reveled.

Northwestern leads Vanderbilt 34-27 at halftime, so it is a bit early to tell who will come out on top here, and which sports media star will see his alma mater advance to face No. 1 seed Gonzaga.
