Michigan State Now The Preseason No. 1 For 2017-18

The Spartans are going be at the top of a lot of preseason top 25s.

College basketball's preseason No. 1 team heading into the 2017-18 season resides in the Big Ten.

Michigan State, with the return of star freshman Miles Bridges and talented big man Ben Carter being granted a sixth year of eligibility, will be at the top of most preseason top 25s.

NBC Sports recently published a new way-too-early preseason top 25 and has Tom Izzo's team on top.

I like this Michigan State team a lot. Nick Ward was a beast last year and Jaren Jackson is the perfect sidekick. Cassius Winston and Josh Langford will both take a step forward. The key, however, is that a potential Player of the Year in Miles Bridges opted to return to school.

CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein says Michigan State is the choice at No. 1 since Louisville isn't returning all of its talented underclassmen.

Arizona, Louisville and Kentucky could get some love at No. 1, too, but it's looking like Michigan State is going to be the popular choice heading into the season.
