This national championship game has been chippy from the start. Now, Michigan star Moe Wagner and Villanova big man Omari Spellman started to get into it.

Both players received technical fouls after what we assume were some salty words. It was an especially bad few seconds for Michigan's star big.

Wagner was called for an offensive foul on a move in the paint. It wound up costing him two points on a powerful dunk.

The two exchanged words, and Wagner started pushing into Spellman with his arms up. That drew the call from the refs.

Wagner and Spellman received technicals. Both now have three fouls, with Wagner picking up two in a matter of seconds.

At first, TBS cut away as it was ready to head to commercial. When the broadcast came back, we saw the brief scuffle.

Deadspin caught video from Canadian network TSN's broadcast of Michigan vs. Villanova of what went down between Moe Wagner and Omari Spellman.

Michigan had an early lead, in major thanks to Wagner exploding early on. However, it has been all-Villanova since midway through the first half.

Wagner has a team-high 14 points and five rebounds. Even with 13 minutes left, don't expect him to be on the bench for long.

Spellman, Villanova's most notable big man, has six points and four rebounds. 'Nova has a commanding 53-36 lead, but the Wildcats are in some foul trouble. He, fellow forward Eric Paschall, who broke out in the semifinal thrashing of Kansas, and star guard Jalen Brunson all have three fouls.
