On Wednesday afternoon, the best coach in women's basketball was announced and it came as no surprise.

South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley received the illustrious honor after leading the Gamecocks to yet another Final Four appearance. It's the second time she's taken home the award in just the past three seasons.

"South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley wins Naismith Women's College Coach of the Year," reporter Augusta Stone said.

She is one of the greatest WNBA players of all time, and has proven herself to be an elite college basketball coach. She the Gamecock women's team to the 2017 national championship and could be en route to another.

South Carolina has emerged as a true women's college basketball powerhouse under her tutelage. She's led the program to two other Final Fours, and has the Gamecocks there once again.

Staley and company hope this won't be their only award of the season, though. They face off against the Louisville Cardinals in a Final Four showdown of two No. 1 seeds on Friday night.
