The No. 3 seed Michigan Wolverines (31-7) take on the No. 9 seed Florida State Seminoles (23-11) in the West Region Elite Eight. The game will be played at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 24. Tip-off time is 8:49 p.m. ET.

Preview: Michigan needed some serious dramatics to advance to the Sweet 16. The trip to the Elite Eight was a bit easier.

Jordan Poole buried a buzzer-beater in the Round of 32 to send the Wolverines past No. 6 seed Houston. Michigan got another upstart Texas team in the Sweet 16 on Thursday night: Texas A&M.

The Aggies were dominant in their upset of North Carolina last weekend. Not so much tonight.

Michigan absolutely shot the lights out, burying 14-of-24 threes en route to a 99-72 win. An NCAA Tournament record eight Michigan players drilled a three. UM was a trendy Final Four pick before the Tournament began, and will probably be favored to go once the line for this Elite Eight game is released.

Meanwhile, Florida State keeps taking down giants. In the Round of 32, it was No. 1 seed Xavier. On Thursday night, No. 4 seed and last year's national runner-up Gonzaga.

The 'Noles were aided with Gonzaga injury troubles right before the game. The Bulldogs were without second-leading scorer Killian Tillie, a stretch-five averaging around 13 points and six rebounds and shooting 48-percent from three at 6-foot-10. He was ruled out just before tip-off.

Still, it's hard to argue that Florida State didn't earn it, even without Tillie. The 'Noles controlled the game throughout, finishing with a 75-60 win.

The super deep 'Noles played 11 guys, all of whom scored. Guard Terance Mann led the way with 18 points, while the Seminoles bench outscored Gonzaga's 30-6.

Prediction: Florida State is peaking at the perfect time, and just had back-to-back huge wins over big-time opponents. A 9-seed vs. 9-seed or 11-seed Final Four game is definitely on the table, with Kansas State and Loyola Chicago facing off in the South Regional.

However, Michigan has been the more consistent team this year, aside from some shaky moments earlier in the tournament. The Wolverines are a complete bunch, and should advance to the Final Four. Michigan wins.
