The No. 3 seed Texas Tech Red Raiders take on the No. 6 seed Florida Gators (20-12) in the Second Round of the East Region. The game will be played at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Friday, March 17.

Preview: Florida may not be what it was under Billy Donovan, but Mike White has done a very good job in his first three seasons taking over for a two-time national champion. The Gators finished third in what was the best SEC men's basketball conference in years.

Junior guard Jalen Hudson leads the way for the Gators, with 15.3 points per game. He is a 41-percent three point shooter on the season.

Texas Tech found success in 2018 despite a difficult conference schedule. So much so that the Red Raiders earned a No. 3 seed after posting 24 wins. Tech's stout defense throughout the season provided the Red Raiders with the opportunity to compete with some of the nation's most-talented teams.

Opening Betting Line: TBA

This is Florida's 21st NCAA Tournament appearance, and the 2nd straight under Mike White. The third-year Gators coach missed the tournament in his first season in Gainesville, but led the team to the Elite Eight last season.

This is Texas Tech's 15th NCAA Tournament appearance, and the first under head coach Chris Beard.

Prediction: Texas Tech had to fight off a legitimate threat from Stephen F. Austin in the first round, but the team's stellar defense locked the game down late. Expect another tough matchup when the Red Raiders face off against the Florida Gators. Florida looked dominant in its win over St. Bonaventure, but gets a stiff test with one of the nation's best defenses.

The Gators will be too much for the Red Raiders. Florida wins.
