Earlier this week, a report suggested one of the top recruits in the 2020 recruiting class was considering going through the reclassification process to enter the 2019 class.
Days later, five-star small forward Johnny Juzang revealed his intentions to reclassify to the 2019 class.
He took to Instagram on Wednesday night with an announcement revealing his plans to reclassify and make his college commitment in the next few weeks.
“…With that being said, I will be reclassifying to the class of 2019 and attending college this fall. •
My college decision will be made in the next few weeks,” he said in the announcement.

First off, I want to thank everyone who’s helped me and been there for me up to this point. I’ve had an amazing experience in high school, and wouldn’t have had it any other way. I’d like to thank Harvard Westlake: the coaches, the trainers, the teachers, and the staff for making my 3 years so special. I also want to thank Compton Magic for all they’ve done for me in my journey thus far. And of course, I want to say thank you to my family and friends who support me no matter what. • With that being said, I will be reclassifying to the class of 2019 and attending college this fall. • My college decision will be made in the next few weeks
Kentucky is seen as the front-runner for the top high school recruit. According to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball Predictions, John Calipari and company are in the lead to land yet another recruit who decided to reclassify.
Before the 2018-19 college basketball season, former five-star recruit Ashton Hagans reclassified from the 2019 class to the 2018 class in order to play for Calipari this past season.
Juzang is also considering Villanova, Virginia, USC, Kansas, among others.
Juzang is the No. 21 overall recruit in the 2020 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. He’ll likely sit inside the top-20 in the 2019 class once the rankings are updated.
