Five-star point guard Quentin Grimes updated on his recruitment, and the schools that are after him the hardest.
Grimes, a native of The Woodlands, Texas, is the No. 1 ranked recruit in his talent-rich home state.
247Sports also has him ranked No. 3 among class of 2018 point guards, and No. 12 overall in the class.
He spoke with MADE Hoops about how his recruitment is going. As you can imagine, the elite point guard is coveted by the nation’s best programs, and the interview certainly backed that up.
One of his home state powers—Texas—calls him every day. Arizona and Kansas are the other two schools after him most.
“I talk to Coach Self almost every week,” he said. “Almost every three days he calls me to let me know that I am a big priority to them, what his vision is for me and who they have coming in to play with me. They are probably one of the top three schools that are coming on me the hardest.”
“I would probably say Texas with Coach Smart calling me every day and I would say maybe Arizona,” Grimes said.
The list of schools he know he wants to visit is similar, though he subs in recruiting monolith Kentucky for ‘Zona. He also mentions that Duke has heavily ramped up its involvement in the last few weeks. He also has offers from Louisville, Miami, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and others, per 247Sports.
That’s pretty much a who’s who of the best recruiting programs in the sport. This one should be a real battle.
