One of the highest-ranked uncommitted recruits in the 2019 basketball class is uncommitted no longer.

R.J. Hampton, a five-star guard out of Texas, announced his commitment on ESPN's Get Up! this morning.

The elite recruit hasn't committed to any college basketball program. Instead, he's decided to turn professional.

Hampton has decided to play overseas for the New Zealand Breakers.

Hampton is the second elite recruit in as many years to skip college. Darius Bazley, a top 2018 recruit, backed out of his commitment to Syracuse.

Hampton is ranked the No. 5 overall recruit in the 2019 class. He's a five-star guard out of Little Elm, Texas.

Kansas, Memphis and Texas Tech, among other programs, were heavily involved in his recruitment.
