This isn’t the way you want to start your season.
Auburn is in the middle of an internal investigation related to an ongoing FBI probe into corruption in college basketball. Tigers assistant Chuck Person was arrested and indicted for his alleged role in the scandal, and the Tigers have also suspended a pair of players.
Now, things could be getting even worse.
According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, AU head coach Bruce Pearl is refusing to cooperate in his school’s investigation and runs the risk of losing his job if he continues to hold out.

Pearl is 44-54 in three seasons at Auburn, and he recorded a winning (18-14) campaign last year. There has been progress on the court, but at what price remains to be seen.
Remember, Pearl has an extensive history with the NCAA, dating back to his days as an assistant at Iowa and of course, his head coaching tenure at Tennessee.
