Sports fans around the country will have to say farewell to "Matthew Loves Ball," a popular YouTube channel that posts condensed versions of almost every college football and men's basketball game.

On Tuesday, "Matthew Loves Ball" announced that his account will be terminated within the next week due to copyright strikes.

“I had very bad news,” the channel said. “My channel will be terminated in the next 7 days, due to copyright strikes received and accumulated recently. It is really unfortunate that I will say goodbye to this channel very soon. I want to thank you all very much for the great support given to my channel in the past 5 years.”

This announcement from "Matthew Loves Ball" was made less than two weeks after it stopped posting content from FOX, FS1, or FS2.

FOX clearly wasn't willing to give up on its copyright claims.

For the most part, the public is furious over this development.

"I don’t think the average person realizes just how vital this YouTube channel is for pretty much every college football reporter," one person wrote. "It’s not an understatement to say that college football analysis and reporting will suffer greatly because of this pettiness."

Another person said, "Appreciate the reporting on this. So many of us younger people rely on channels like this so when they get taken down it’s a big deal."

It's worth noting that "Matthew Loves Ball" has created a second YouTube channel titled "Matthew Highlights #2."
