An update on the upcoming decision for the star freshman big man.
Kentucky star freshman big man Bam Adebayo is reportedly considering entering the NBA Draft without signing an agent, according to a report by Kentucky Sports Radio's Matt Jones.
This would allow Adebayo, a potential first-round pick, to test the waters and then return to the Wildcats for his sophomore season if he decides his NBA Draft stock is not where he wants it to be.
Fellow Kentucky freshmen Malik Monk and De'Aaron Fox also have decisions to make, but they are widely expected to leave as potential top-five picks.
Adebayo, a former five-star recruit, averaged 13 points and eight rebounds a game for the Wildcats this past season. He scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds in Kentucky's loss to North Carolina in the Elite Eight.
NBADraftNet's latest mock draft has Adebayo going No. 16 overall to the Miami Heat.
If he's going to be a top 20 pick, it's tough to imagine him returning to school for another year, but you never know.
Kentucky brings in the country's No. 1 recruiting class for 2017 and should once again be a Final Four contender in 2017-18, regardless of what Adebayo does. Getting him back, though, could have UK as the preseason No. 1, especially if Isaiah Briscoe returns, too.
