Roy Williams And Dawn Staley Threw Out First Pitches For UNC vs. South Carolina Baseball

Roy Williams and Dawn Staley's teams brought home two more national championships to the Carolinas in the NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments. Today, their schools face off on the diamond.

The Tar Heels and Gamecocks are playing at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte tonight, midway between Chapel Hill and Columbia. The two national championships are being celebrated at the game, with Williams and Staley throwing out the first pitches ahead of the game.

Not a bad throw by Roy there. Not a ton of velocity, but he got it over the heart of the plate, which is more than we can say for many celebrity first pitches, even from other athletes.

We're not convinced that Staley has taken off that neck since her Gamecocks knocked off Mississippi State to take home the national title back on April 2. Williams, who had previously led the Tar Heels to the 2005 and 2009 National Championships, is a bit more familiar with the taste of ultimate tournament victory, but he looks pretty thrilled to be celebrating after his program's win over Gonzaga as well.

UNC is 26-6 on the year, and No. 5 in the D1Baseball.com Top 25. South Carolina is 21-10, and No. 14 in the same rankings. The Tar Heels are currently getting the better of their Gamecock counterparts, and lead early 4-0.
