SI Releases College Basketball Top 25 Rankings

These are the top 25 teams heading into the season according to Sports Illustrated.

The college basketball season is almost fully underway as we work through the preseason, and as is customary, Sports Illustratedreleased its full set of rankings ahead of the regular season.

SI went ahead and ranked all 351 college basketball programs, and these are the top 25:

1. Arizona
2. Michigan State
3. Duke
4. Wichita State
5. Villanova
6. Cincinnati
7. Kansas
8. Kentucky
9. Louisville
10. Florida
11. West Virginia
12. Miami
13. USC
14. Saint Mary's
15. Xavier
16. Notre Dame
17. Purdue
18. UNC
19. Baylor
20. UCLA
21. Alabama
22. Northwestern
23. Gonzaga
24. TCU
25. Seton Hall

Probably what you expected, just not in that order. In most preseason rankings, Duke has taken the number one spot, but for SI, Arizona was the clear choice.

According to SI, if all players on the Wildcats' roster are deemed eligible, "they’re going to roll over most of their opponents."

Yikes.
