The college basketball world saw an impressive upset on Tuesday night as the South Carolina Gamecocks took down the Auburn Tigers by a final score of 80-77 at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.

After trailing 38-37 at the half, the Gamecocks outscored the favored Tigers 43-39 over the final 20 minutes of the game to walk out with the win. Chris Silva poured in a career-high 32 points and 14 rebounds to lead South Carolina to its 10th win of the season - second against a top-25 opponent.

It's a huge win for the Gamecocks after a disappointing trip to Baton Rouge ended with a 22-point loss to the LSU Tigers.

The loss for the Tigers was just their fifth of the season and third to an unranked opponent. South Carolina ended the game with the edge in shooting percentage and controlled the boards by a margin of 40-34 en route to the three-point victory.

The Gamecocks moved to 5-1 in the conference, while Bruce Pearl's squad fell to 2-3 after dropping games to Kentucky and Mississippi earlier in the month.

Next up for the Gamecocks is a trip to Oklahoma State to take on the Cowboys. Meanwhile Auburn travels to Starkville to take on No. 22 Mississippi State in a few days.
