Jalek Felton has been suspended.

North Carolina will be without a former star recruit for the foreseeable future. The Tar Heels announced on Tuesday morning that freshman guard Jalek Felton has been suspended from the university.

Felton is a former 4-star guard from the 2017 class. He was the No. 1 combo-guard in the class and the No. 30 player in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports.

Jalek is the nephew of former North Carolina star Raymond Felton. He committed to Roy Williams and the Tar Heels over offers from Florida, Kansas, and Virginia.

Details of Felton's suspension were not made available by the university. However, they did offer the following statement.

University of North Carolina freshman guard Jalek Felton has been suspended from the University and therefore is not currently eligible to participate in any University activities.

Due to federal privacy laws, that is the extent to which the University can comment.

The freshman guard has played in all of the first 22 games this season. During those games he racked up 2.9 points and 1.6 assists per game.
