A young basketball player on Charlotte-based Nike EYBL squad Team United reportedly collapsed on the court today. The incident occurred during a game against Nike Phamily, a team led by Marvin Bagley Jr., father of the Duke star. According to those on hand, it was a frightening sight.

The player's identity has not been released yet. According to a USA Today report, he collapsed to the floor at around 9:37 left in the second half. He was not immediately responsive, and the medical staff on hand worked to revive him.

Today's Nike EYBL event took place in Hampton, Virginia. According to the report, the entire event, which consisted of games being played on multiple courts at the same time, was suspended for over 30 minutes as paramedics gave aid to the player.

He was eventually taken to an ambulance and brought to a local hospital. More, from The News & Observer:

The player appeared unconscious as medical personnel ran on to the court to assist him. Chest compressions were administered. His teammates and coaches first gathered on their bench across the court, many in tears.

Vashti Hurt of Carolina Blitz was on hand at the Team United game when the medical emergency occurred.

She posted video of the team shortly after the player collapsed. Players were visibly distraught.

According to those at the event, Team United did not finish its game, as you would expect. Other games went on after the delay, and tomorrow's games are expected to be played.

Our thoughts go out to the player's family, Team United, and everyone else impacted by this terrifying event. It is hard to think of a scarier thing to happen at any youth even like this.

As of now, there has been nothing official out of Team United or Nike EYBL about the player's status. We'll update as we learn more about the situation.
