Here's the latest on five-star point guard Trevon Duval.
The recruitment of the No. 1 point guard in the country is close to the finish line.
Trevon Duval, a five-star recruit out of New Jersey, has recently taken some official visits to Duke, Arizona and Baylor.
Where does Duval's recruitment stand after these visits?
ESPN predicts he'll land at Duke.
Duval took his recruitment much slower than most other elite prospects. He didn’t cut his list to five until mid-November, and didn’t even start his official visits until a couple of weeks ago. Duval first visited Kansas for Late Night at the Phog back in the fall. He then went to Duke a couple of weeks ago, before going on his Arizona and Baylor trips over the past several days. Duke has appeared as the leader for the past few months, even though the Blue Devils didn’t get involved until the fall and didn’t offer until late November.
Duval spoke highly of his visit to Duke in his diary for USA TODAY.
The Duke-Carolina game is really big for basketball.
Just to be in that environment was big for me. It definitely lived up to the hype. The whole bottom section of fans is all students. They stood up the whole time and they were really creative.
They kept chanting for me and asking me to come and sit with them, but I just smiled! I wanted to go, but that might’ve been an automatic commitment right there! Haha!
Duval, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect, is the No. 1 PG and No. 5 player overall in the class by 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
His highlight tape is absurd:
Whoever gets him is likely getting a 1-and-done player. But he'll be incredibly fun to watch for that one year.
