Sports can bring out aggressive, uncalled for acts of violence in certain unfortunate circumstances. During a recent Division 2 basketball game in Florida, an innocent player was on the receiving end of a horrifying cheap shot.

Saint Leo University's Isaiah Hill sucker-punched WPIAL's Nick Smith in the process of Hill utilizing a backside screen. Before Hill makes his cut out to the perimeter, you can see him land a punch on Smith in the video below.

The punch causes Smith to drop to the ground, clearly in pain and stunned by the hard hit. This is without a doubt one of the dirtiest cheap shots in some time.

Rightfully, Saint Leo University has announced Hill has been suspended for the rest of the season.

"Isaiah's conduct on the court is not an accurate representation of Saint Leo's core values. Saint Leo University holds its students to high standards of moral and ethical conduct as a reflection of Benedictine values," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Fran Reidy, via SaintLeoLions.com. "Upon review of Isaiah's actions this past Saturday, he will not represent Saint Leo University in competition for the remainder of 2019."

It's a good thing Saint Leo University is taking the proper action in this incident. Hill absolutely deserves not to play for the rest of the season.
