The NCAA Tournament brings out the gambler in many people who don't normally wager on games. For those who do gamble, well, the tournament is the ultimate pressure cooker.
Bettors are left biting their nails as games come down to the wire and the point spreads are hanging in the balance. Check out this scene from Vegas earlier this afternoon.
After being in a dogfight with 13th-seeded Vermont for much of the game, the fourth-seeded Florida State Seminoles began to pull away. The 'Noles led by seven late in the game as time was winding out.
An open layup would have resulted in a nine-point margin of victory, and would have covered the 8.5-point spread. Instead, the FSU player elected to hold the ball out.

Some people in that video had their afternoons at least partially ruined. They probably have action on other games though too.
Videos like that make me happy I don't bet on point spreads. The aggravation isn't worth it.
