Duke star Wendell Carter Jr.'s mother Kylia was reportedly involved in an incident in the stands with a Rhode Island fan on Saturday afternoon.
Wendell Carter Jr. is putting on a performance against Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon. The star freshman is 4-of-4 from the field with nine points and four rebounds in the first half. Unfortunately, it looks like his mother is having a more difficult time during the contest.
According to a report from Bob Sutton of The Times-News in Burlington, Carter's mother, Kylia, was involved in an "incident" with a Rhode Island fan and wound up having to move seats.
Sutton says that Carter's mother was moved closer to the Duke bench - and that the Rhode Island fan was ushered away.
It's unclear what led to the incident, so we won't jump to conclusions on what transpired.
Duke, meanwhile, holds a 33-18 advantage with six minutes left in the first half. Rhode Island has had a great deal of trouble dealing with Duke's zone.
The second round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament will continue through Sunday night.
