Gonzaga has dealt with serious foul trouble all night, and star freshman center Zach Collins is the first foul-out casualty in this sloppy game.
Collins managed just 14 minutes in the game, but he was productive in that little time, scoring nine points, grabbing seven rebounds, and blocking three shots. He fouled out incredibly quickly, however, on a night when the referees are quick trigger with their whistles on seemingly every possession.
The fouls have been touchy on both sides, and on Collins especially. The fourth foul against the promising young seven-footer had fans outraged.
Przemek Karnowski and Johnathan Williams are each playing with four fouls as well. Gonzaga is still battling though, and has taken a 63-62 lead with just over two minutes left.
Between the fouls and abysmal shooting performances from both sides, this is as ugly a championship as we've had since the UConn vs. Butler debacle at the back-end of Kemba Walker's dramatic run. Let's hope we at least get a good finish here.
