Over the weekend, the Los Angeles Lakers made a bold play to trade for New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis.

The Lakers shipped Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and three first-round picks to the Pelicans for the six-time All-Star.

New Orleans, which owns the No. 1 pick in the draft, also landed the No. 4 pick in the upcoming draft. The Pelicans could look to package the No. 4 pick for a bigger star currently in the league, but one thing is clear: the No. 1 pick will be Zion Williamson.

On Wednesday, Williamson met with the media to talk about his future in the league.

He was asked about the trade that sent Davis to Los Angeles. The former Duke Blue Devils star revealed he was at the driving range when he found out about the trade.

"I don't know if it was like a life-changing thing...I'm ready to the face of a team," Williamson said.

Williamson is set to become the face of the New Orleans Pelicans in just over 24 hours.

The announcement of any name other than Williamson's along with the Pelicans' selection would be a major shock. His former teammates, R.J. Barrett and Cam Reddish will also likely go in the top-10.

The 2019 NBA draft kicks off on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
