Recent covers of SLAM magazine have featured LeBron James, Steph Curry, Isaiah Thomas, and Russell Westbrook. The newest hoops star to grace the cover hasn't even played college ball yet: five-star recruit Zion Williamson.
Williamson, the No. 2 recruit in the class of 2018, has already solidified his place as one of the sport's most prolific dunkers. He spent much of the early part of 2017 going viral for his huge in-game slams.
Now, he's officially a cover athlete, and he hasn't even committed yet.
SLAM has Williamson on the cover of issue No. 210. The magazine says he has "LeBron-like dunks" and "Russ-like explosiveness."
The magazine also put out a cool "behind-the-cover" video.
Williamson's basketball future, as far as college is concerned, is still unclear. The prolific dunker is being recruited by the country's elite programs, and is down to a group of schools featuring Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, and two local Power Five programs, Clemson and South Carolina.
Over at 247Sports, 45-percent of voters in the 'crystal ball' believe he'll end up a Blue Devil, with Kentucky right behind at 36-percent. The late money seems to be on the Wildcats, which saw a significant bump when he got a visit from UK assistant Joel Justus in mid-April.
Of course, this is recruiting, so anything can happen, and it doesn't look like Williamson is rushing towards a decision.
