Top OL Grad Transfer Announces SEC Commitment

A graduate transfer offensive lineman who began his career at a mid-major program will be moving up into the gauntlet of the SEC West this fall.

UMass' Jack Driscoll announced he will finish his college career at Auburn. Driscoll graduated from UMass in three seasons and will have two years to play for the Tigers.

As a grad transfer, he is eligible immediately. Driscoll chose the Eagles over USC and UCLA after visiting all three programs.

"I want to thank The University of Massachusetts for the past three years," Driscoll tweeted. "I have made lifelong friends and memories that will last forever. I am grateful for the opportunity they gave me both academically and athletically. However, at this time I have decided to pursue an MBA and play football at Auburn University in the fall. War Eagle!"

Driscoll started all 12 games at right tackle for the Minutemen last fall but also has experience playing left tackle and offensive guard.

Originally a two-star recruit out of high school, Driscoll has proven himself at the Division I level already. Now he'll have a chance to show what he can do in a premier conference.

Auburn opens its 2018 season against Washington on Sept. 1. Although it is Week 1, it is a matchup that could have College Football Playoff implications.
