4-Star WR EJ Williams Commits To Clemson
EJ Williams, one of the most coveted wide receiver recruits in the country, has made his college decision. To those who've followed his recruitment, it should come as no surprise.
Williams is set to join the Clemson Tigers. Considering the sheer amount of wide receiver talent produced by Dabo Swinney's program in recent years, it is easy to see why.
All 11 of the recruiting experts that made predictions at 247Sports' crystal ball believed that Williams would give his pledge to Clemson. This afternoon, they were proven correct.
The site's Cory Fravel was on hand for the announcement:
Clemson gets a big recruiting win in Alabama's back yard. The future Tiger is from Phenix City, and had Alabama and Auburn among his finalists, along with LSU. He'll join former high school teammate Justyn Ross, who has emerged as one of Clemson's most dangerous weapons at the wide receiver position.
247 ranks him No. 91 in the class of 2020. He's the No. 20 wide receiver in the class, and the fourth-ranked player in Alabama.
EJ Williams is just the latest addition in what is shaping up to be one of the best recruiting classes we've seen, at least on paper. The Tigers have a stranglehold on the top spot, usually reserved for Alabama.
Clemson has 20 commitments, including six five-star players and another nine four-star players. The No. 2 and 3 classes, Alabama and LSU, each have 23 players, but still trail Clemson by a decent margin in the rankings.
