Deion Sanders Lands Major Transfer Commitment On Sunday Morning
Recruiting never stops for Deion Sanders and Colorado football. The transfer portal is up and running, which means the Buffaloes are busy adding pieces for the 2025 season.
On Saturday, three separate transfer prospects shared that they were on the Colorado campus for visits. This morning, the Buffaloes landed a commitment from one of them, Louisiana Tech offensive lineman Zarian McGill. The 6-foot-2, 308-pound McGill, who allowed only five quarterback pressures in 250 pass blocking reps this season, per PFF, has one more year of eligibility remaining.
The Taylorsville, Miss. native spent the 2024 campaign at Louisiana Tech after two seasons at Louisiana Monroe. He was a second-team All-Sun Belt selection in 2023 for the Warhawks.
McGill began his college career with two seasons at the junior college level at Jones College in Mississippi. He was named to the NJCAA All-Region 23 Team in 2021 and was also a two-time All-MACCC selection.

After going 4-8 in his first season in Boulder in 2023, Deion Sanders led the Buffaloes to a 9-4 mark and Alamo Bowl appearance in 2024.
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Deion's son, and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter are among the Colorado players departing this offseason, but Sanders made it clear after the bowl game loss to BYU that his program doesn't intend to be a flash in the pan.
"Expectations. We've established expectations," Sanders said when asked what he hopes to carry into next season. "Now, you expect us to perform a certain way, you expect us to win, you expect us to be exciting, you expect us to be a lot more disciplined than we were today. You just have expectations of us now. That's what we've established."
Colorado will open its 2025 season against ACC foe Georgia Tech on Aug. 30 in Boulder. For now, Sanders will continue to fortify his team's roster for the fall.
