Mosqueda-Lewis, Faris both reach 1,000 points as UConn routs Seton Hall on Senior Day

Story: No team ever wants to be the team that plays UConn after a loss. They don't lose often, but when they do, they come back with a vengeance.
After falling 76-70 to No. 1 Baylor on Monday in Hartford, the Huskies extended their run to 720 games without consecutive losses by beating Seton Hall 90-30.
Saturday was the sixth time that the Huskies played the Pirates coming off of a loss -- they have won all six of those games by an average margin of 51 points.
UConn began the afternoon by honoring three seniors playing in their final game at Gampel Pavilion: Kelly Faris, Caroline Doty and Heather Buck. Buck was given the opportunity to start for the second time in her career and made her 150th career appearance.
The day became even more special when sophomore Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scored her 1,000th point in the first half. Only Maya Moore and Svetlana Abrosimova reached 1,000 points faster than Mosqueda-Lewis in their UConn careers.
But the historic night was not done there. In the second half, Faris also reached the 1,000 point mark, sending the 9,107 fans in attendance into an uproar. Faris also recorded her 500th career assist just before scoring her 1,000th point.
It was the first time two Huskies reached 1,000 points in the same game since Nykesha Sales and Carla Berube did so in 1998.
The milestones piled up on Saturday, as the victory was Auriemma's 400th Big East win, which he said feels just like Big East win No. 399.
Despite the 60-point win, it was not always pretty for the Huskies. UConn shot 11-19 from the free-throw line, which led Geno Auriemma to praise Seton Hall's "free-throw defense." UConn only turned the ball over 13 times, but many of those turnovers came on fundamental mistakes that could cost UConn a shot at the national championship.
Turnovers have been the issue for the Huskies over the past two seasons, which have both ended without national championships after winning two straight. UConn still has a lot of mistakes to fix before it can be considered in league with Baylor and Notre Dame in the national title picture.
Three games remain in the regular season for UConn. On Tuesday, they wrap up the home schedule with a game against Pittsburgh in Hartford. UConn travels to South Florida later in the week before their regular season finale on March 4 at No. 2 Notre Dame.
