Heather Dinich Addresses If She Thinks Georgia Can Three-Peat

Heather Dinich of ESPN talks about the Big Ten and College Football Playoff in 2020.

There has never been a three-peat in the College Football Playoff era. In fact, it's a feat that hasn't happened in over 80 years.

Georgia has a chance to win a third-straight title in 2023. ESPN's Heather Dinich evaluated their odds of accomplishing that goal on Get Up this morning.

"Can Georgia become the first team since the AP poll was introduced in 1936 to win three straight national titles?" Dinich asked. "They've got [tight end] Brock Bowers coming back, they open the season with four straight home games, they've got four of their top five tacklers [back], but they need a QB."

Dinich was then asked by Mike Greenberg where the Bulldogs go at quarterback and if they should be expected to be "right back" in the national championship mix.

"They should be right back there, because Carson Beck came out of the spring probably as the favorite but he's going to continue competing with Brock Vandagriff for that top spot," she responded. "As I mentioned, they have four straight home games [to start the season], all of which they should win.

"Kirby Smart is the kind of guy who is not going to be afraid to make a quarterback change if he has to, to get the best player on the field. They have an easier path to the College Football Playoff than Alabama does...I would expect to see Georgia back in the SEC Championship Game and among the top four teams."

Georgia will open up the 2023 season at home against Tennessee-Martin on Sept. 2.

The Bulldogs will then host Ball State, South Carolina and UAB before finally going on the road at Auburn on Sept. 30.
