ESPN Analyst Thinks This Superstar QB 'Should Have Stayed In School Without Question'
Lamar Jackson had an interesting week at the NFL Scouting Combine. Perhaps no player had to deal with as many questions about his abilities.
Jackson is coming off of a miraculous college career. The 2016 Heisman Trophy winner put up eye-popping numbers at Louisville.
He threw for 9,043 yards, 69 touchdowns and 27 interceptions in his three college seasons. He also ran for 4,132 yards and 50 touchdowns.
One thing that Jackson never did, even once, with the Cardinals: catch a pass. And yet, there were reports that teams wanted him to work out at receiver at the combine.
Jackson denied that any team asked him to do so. He has also reiterated multiple times that he only has interest in playing quarterback.
Doug Gottlieb reported that one general manager called Jackson a "project at the white board" when compared to other quarterbacks in this draft. In the

">same tweet, he said that Baker Mayfield was "off the charts," while Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold also drew high grades.
It is a pretty strong year for quarterbacks, with as many as four guys having top 10 potential. Josh Allen, Darnold, Mayfield, and Rosen could all figure into the discussion to be picked at the very top of the draft.
After the Combine results, ESPN's Trevor Matich thinks its clear that Lamar Jackson should've stayed in school.
Perhaps the 2019 NFL Draft class will be less loaded at quarterback. There's also a chance that Jackson could take his abilities as a passer to a new level.
Still, it seems pretty unlikely that Jackson could do anything that would radically change how NFL scouts view him. After two unbelievable seasons at quarterback, if some still don't think he's worth a shot to play that position in the NFL, they might not change their minds.
Jackson may not be a first round pick. However, with his physical tools it seems likely that someone will take a shot on him relatively early in a few weeks.
