ESPN Releases Week 12 Heisman Trophy Ballot

LSU quarterback Joe Burrow had already established himself in the middle of the Heisman race entering Week 11. With his gaudy numbers in the win, the Tigers star is the clear front-runner to win the award.

Burrow threw for 393 yard and three touchdowns in the win, helping LSU jump out to a big lead in Tuscaloosa. After Alabama clawed back into the game, thanks in large part to running back Najee Harris and a gutsy performance by less-than-100-percent Tua Tagovailoa, Burrow made some huge plays with his arm and his legs (64 rushing yards vs. Alabama) to seal the win.

ESPN's 10-person panel that votes on its weekly Heisman poll agrees. All 10 logged their votes for Burrow this week.

"If there was any doubt about Burrow's status as the favorite going into last weekend, it was laid to rest on Saturday. The Tigers' star QB threw for 393 yards and three TDs in LSU's win over Bama, its first over the Tide since 2011. Burrow, who was carried off the field on his teammates' shoulders, also rushed for 64 yards."

As the piece notes, Joe Burrow is currently -700 to win the award at Caesar's Sportsbook.

Early in the year, Jalen Hurts looked like he might be running away with the award after transferring to Oklahoma. He remains fantastic, but has come back to the pack just enough in recent weeks. At mid-season, Tagovailoa took over as the slight favorite over Hurts and Burrow. Now, with a signature win under his belt and an impeccable undefeated resume overall, Burrow is poised to cruise to the award, barring someone else having an historic final three weeks.
