Miami QB Evan Shirreffs Announces He Will Pursue Grad Transfer

Miami quarterback Evan Shirreffs will transfer.
Shirreffs, who spent the last three seasons backing up Brad Kaaya and Malik Rosier, will graduate from Miami and pursue a grad transfer.
"I want to thank Coach Richt, the staff, and my teammates for an incredible 3 years at the University of Miami," Shirreffs wrote.
Since Shirreffs is getting his degree in three years, he'll have two years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
A three-star recruit out of Jefferson (Ga.) in the class of 2015, Shirreffs redshirted in 2015. He did not see any action in 2016 either, but was elevated to the team's No. 2 quarterback position this season.
Shirreffs played in four games in 2017, completing 2-of-7 passes for 16 yards. He saw action against Villanova, Bethune-Cookman, North Carolina and Pitt.
His most noteworthy appearance came in the season finale against Pitt, when he replaced an ineffective Rosier for a series in the second half. Shirreffs carried once for minus-two yards and threw two incomplete passes before being replaced by Rosier.

Given the need for quarterback depth throughout college football, Shirreffs should see some relatively strong interest.
What will be interesting is seeing if he wants to continue playing at a Power 5 program or will transfer down to the mid-major of FCS levels.
