Video: Michael Irvin Appears To Be Ready For Tonight's Miami-Florida Game
The 2019 college football season officially kicks off tonight with an in-state battle between Miami and Florida.
Before tonight's action, former Miami star Michael Irvin spoke to a crowd of Hurricanes fans to get them fired up for the game.
Irvin can be reserved at times, but he's at his best when he's pumping up the crowd - or himself.
On Friday night, he did both. The longtime NFL wide receiver wants Miami to rip the heart out of Florida.
No, really.
Irvin is hardly the only former player excited for tonight's game.
Former Florida star quarterback Tim Tebow had a message for his Gators earlier this week.
Here's what Tebow had to say:
"This is huge. This is an opportunity where they've gotten so much hype but now you have to live up to it. Last year doesn't matter anymore. What you did this summer, the hype, being top-10 it doesn't matter. You have to show up on the field and you have to earn it this year."
This is the first contest between these two programs since 2013, but it won't be the last. The two schools agreed to a home-and-home series to be played in 2024-25.
Miami and Florida kick off tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
