Video: JD Spielman Takes Punt Return To The House For Nebraska
Nebraska only led by a touchdown going into halftime of its season opener. It's evident that Scott Frost and his coaching staff made the proper adjustments.
Eric Lee Jr. revitalized the crowd in Lincoln with a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown. Shortly after, the special teams unit for the Cornhuskers came to life.
With nearly 12 minutes remaining in the third quarter, JD Spielman had a 76-yard punt return touchdown. The junior wideout followed his blockers and used his blazing speed to get past South Alabama's coverage.
Spielman's touchdown gave Nebraska a three-score advantage over South Alabama in the second half of action.
Although Spielman didn't get many opportunities in the passing attack, he's showing that he can help out the team in more ways than one.

Despite the offense struggling thus far for the Cornhuskers, the coaching staff has to be thrilled with how its defense and special teams are playing.
Spielman is coming off an impressive sophomore season at Nebraska. He finished last year with 66 receptions for 818 yards and eight touchdowns.
Following Spielman's return touchdown, the Jaguars scored to cut their deficit against the Cornhuskers.
Nebraska leads 28-14 over South Alabama in its season opener.
