Nebraska vs. Fresno State – Game Time, TV Schedule, Line, Preview, Predictions

The good news for Nebraska is that it won last week, and the team moved to 2-0 on the season. The bad news is that it took a miracle touchdown by Heisman hopeful running back Ameer Abdullah to beat an FCS team in McNeese State. While the Cowboys are a fine team, they should not be able to hang with the Huskers in Lincoln, yet that's exactly what happened last week.

Fortunately for Nebraska, it takes on a bad Fresno State squad this weekend. How bad are the Bulldogs? They have been outscored 111-40 in their first two games. Even though this is the squad's home opener, Fresno State isn't particularly good at anything, and this one can get ugly.

Prediction: Nebraska should win this game easily. Of course, we say "should," because Nebraska should have taken down McNeese State easily last week, but the Huskers needed a wild touchdown to put away the Cowboys.

However, we think Nebraska will get back on track after that scare, which was more of a wake up call than a sign of things to come. Sure, playing a game that late at night may be a disadvantage -- the contest will kick off at 9:30 P.M. CST -- but in terms of talent and coaching, the Huskers have a leg up on a bad Fresno State squad.

Look for Abdullah to be fantastic, as usual, and put up another monster performance. However, the far more interesting to look for is the performance of Huskers QB Tommy Armstrong, who has struggled at times this season. If Nebraska wants to win the Big Ten, it's going to need its quarterback to complete more than 51.7 percent of his passes, and what better time to start than against a subpar Bulldogs squad?

We'll take Nebraska to win and cover. The team is just too talented, and Fresno State has looked downright awful in its first two games. We expect Nebraska to come out angry last week's subpar performance, and for the Huskers to cruise to 3-0.
