Report: Nebraska Player Suspended Indefinitely For Rules Violation

It's been a rough few weeks for Nebraska athletics. The football team finished without a bowl for the third year in a row, and the basketball team has lost three of its last four games by sizable margins.
Unfortunately, things don't exactly look primed to get better any time soon.
According to Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald, Huskers junior guard Jervay Green has been suspended indefinitely. Per the report, head coach Fred Hoiberg levied the suspension for an unspecified "violation of team rules."
Green led the Huskers in scoring with 22 points in a win over Southern last month, and has led the team in assists twice this season.
The Huskers are currently tied for the worst record of any Big Ten team at 4-5. By contrast, last year they started 13-4 under former head coach Tim Miles.
That isn't to say that things are necessarily unraveling for Fred Hoiberg. But to be forced to suspend one of his best best guards ahead of what could be a crucial game against Indiana tonight doesn't bode well for their postseason hopes moving forward.
Fortunately for the Huskers, if they can weather the storm at Assembly Hall, they'll have a nice, long home stretch to look forward to over the next five games.
