Baker Mayfield Responds To Colin Cowherd, Who Called Him "Pudgy"
Baker Mayfield is keeping tabs on what Colin Cowherd has said about him.
Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, despite winning the Heisman Trophy and leading his team to the College Football Playoff this past year, has his share of naysayers. There are many, including FOX Sports' Colin Cowherd, who don't think he's a legit pro prospect. Mayfield appears to be keeping tabs on all of it.
This week, Cowherd did a number of segments on Mayfield, suggesting that he played against weak defenses, partied too hard, had multiple concussions, etc.
In one clip, Cowherd even calls Mayfield "pudgy" when comparing him to Russell Wilson.
"Baker Mayfield isn't in the same class in terms of IQ, his dad went to Dartmouth, his grandpa to Princeton. In terms of athletic ability, Russell Wilson may be the best athlete outside of Antonio Brown in the entire league. Baker Mayfield is a two-time walk-on. It's the wrong comp.
Do not compare Baker Mayfield to Russell Wilson. Do not compare him to Drew Brees, who was also, in his prime, a remarkable athlete. His comp is Case Keenum. His comp is Chase Daniel, which is a little pudgy, not a great athlete."
An Oklahoma fan recorded one of Cowherd's segments and sent it to Mayfield. Mayfield responded, making it clear that he's acknowledging it.

Mayfield has proven a great deal this season, but if he can lead Oklahoma to a national title, there won't be much left for the doubters. The Sooners take on Georgia in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day.
